About Nigel L Rylatt.

Nigel L Rylatt

Nigel L Rylatt was a dedicated military and political historian. Nigel's work was also his intellectual hobby. He was based at his home in West Yorkshire, England, and it is from there that he created all his written work and any other information relevant to military and political history, or defence and international security.
Sadly Nigel passed away in February 2006, and this website containing his own work has been created as a tribute to this great man. All of the content of this website was researched and written by Nigel L Rylatt himself.

Quote:
"My interest in history began at school, and my interest in the Armed Services began around the same time. One of my earliest memories of the British Army was of the first 4 or 5 years of the current operation in Northern Ireland."

He often visited London to attend lectures or seminars at RUSI (Royal United Services Institute for Defence Studies) and also had the honour of being a Fellow of the Institute. The information gained from these visits was of the utmost importance to anyone wishing to keep abreast of the various political/military movements currently occurring in the world, and the history behind these events.

Quote:
"Our earth is a wondrous place. The many centuries of humankind's involvement with our earth have led us eventually to where we are now. The complex symbiotic existence between the politics of people, and the military means by which these politics are maintained have, over the last few centuries in particular, given us all a font of knowledge about how we human beings conduct our lives. From the Knight's Templar at the turn of the last Millennium to the more despicable despots of our modern era, humankind has shown and continues to show great goodness and inhuman savagery. It is doubtful if this trend is about to change suddenly. Knowledge of why some of the political/military events of history happened is therefore an excellent weapon to have in your armoury when trying to glimpse into the possible future awaiting us all on earth now."
